We are looking for any former members and people that were helped by the New England Missing Persons Bureau to contact us with their personal accounts of the cases that involved them. These stories may help others with tips, techniques on how to find their missing loved ones, and to show how the Bureau provided service to the communities it served. Some of the names may be changed to protect the innocent or by request of the author.

900805S Shannon K, Athol, Massachusetts, Date of Incident 8-22-90, Located.
Assisted in locating Shannon K, 15 year old female who ran with boyfriend to Jacksonville, FL. Subject was located on 8-30-90 in cooperation with AWC and local authorities prompted her rapid recovery. NEMPB provided assistance in the transportation home. Specialists on the case: Steve Chase, Michelle Cormier, Shaun O'Donoghue. Case was referred to the NEMPB by Search and Rescue Association.
770503DQ Townsend, Massachusetts, Date of Incident 5-16-90, Missing.
Steve Chase assisted in a cold case including this case from Townsend, Massachusetts. NEMPB met with the Chief of Police and will open a special case file.
900523TP Milford, Massachusetts, Special, Date of Incident 5-23-90, Unknown.
Subject came in person to the NEMPB Milford, Massachusetts office reporting a possible parental kidnapper with children from Marlborough, Massachusetts. Subject, alleged babysitter, stated that the parent used various names with the children's physicians; schools etc. and was elusive as to the children's past. Information relayed to Sgt. John Murphy, Massachusetts State Police Missing Persons Unit. Specialists on the case: Steve Chase.
890423SW Anaheim, California, Runaway, Date of Incident 5-1-90, Located.
Assist to the Anaheim, California Police Department, Officer Susan Alsky. Case suspended. Subject is a 15 year old female who is believed to be in contact with non-custodial parent out of state. Specialists on the case: Michelle Cormier.
890113JW St. Cloud, Minnesota, Abduction, Date of Incident 5-6-90, Missing.
Information obtained and relayed to the NEMPB from Edgartown, Massachusetts Police Department regarding notes found in the possession of a convicted child molester which makes Reference to Jacob Wetterling. Information forwarded to the Boston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the St. Cloud Sheriff's Department. Subject in question was being held at the Bridgewater State Mental Hospital. Specialists on the case: Steve Chase.
900519DH Marlborough, Massachusetts, Runaway, Date of Incident 5-19-90, Located.
16 year old female was located on 5-19-90 camping in a State Forest in New Hampshire with friends. Specialists on the case: Dana Preston.
900804ES Providence, Rhode Island, Suicide, Date of Incident 8-27-90, Located, Deceased.
20 year old female from Boston University was located prior to services rendered. Specialists responded to meet with officials and were cancelled since the missing was found. Apparent suicide. Specialists on the case: unknown.
900603DC Athol, Massachusetts, Runaway, Date of Incident 8-27-90, Located.
16 year old female located on 9-5-90 in Cheyenne, Wyoming after NEMPB disseminated information to State and Local police in Wyoming and Colorado. NEMPB provided return transportation of the missing person home and family support provided additional services. 900219BR Revere, Massachusetts, Runaway, Date of Incident 6-15-90, Located.
14 year old female subject located 9-12-90 after active, concentrated urban search of Boston (Downtown Crossing, Government Center, Combat Zone, and Boston Common and the T MBTA transit system). The missing had taken residence in a Commonwealth of Massachusetts mental health shelter in Government Center with boyfriend. Missing when located was 7 months pregnant. NEMPB provided assistance to the BJC and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Capitol Police. Specialists on the case: Shaun O'Donoghue, Andy Gillis, Michelle Cormier, Dana Preston.
900403NR Milford Massachusetts, Abduction, Date of Incident 4-4-90, Located.
5 year old female kidnapped from Milford Massachusetts and was taken to East Point, Florida by kidnapper Kenneth M. Cole II. The Federal Bureau of Investigations Director William Sessions attributed the recovery to the dissemination of information thought the media and America's Most Wanted, both of which used the NEMPB flyer. NEMPB received special commendations from the Director of the FBI. Specialists on the case: Steve Chase, Shaun O'Donoghue, Andy Gillis, Scott Burnett, Dana Preston, Michelle Cormier, and many others.
900712CD International Case, Switzerland, Abduction, Date of Incident 07-19-1990, Located, Homicide.
25 year old female in Geneva, Switzerland murdered on 7-12-90. NEMPB was requested by the Boston Federal Bureau of Investigation for special services. NEMPB provided to the United States State Department a missing persons flyer in five languages. Subject was a missing American tourist vacationing in Switzerland when she disappeared. Flyers created in corporation with local colleges and universities. Little information is available as to the circumstances of the homicide. Family sent the NEMPB a thank you letter for the assistance of the NEMPB. Specialists on the case: Shaun O'Donoghue.
900418JR Anaheim, California, Runaway, Date of Incident 4-26-90, Located.
NEMPB provided assistance to Anaheim, California Police Department in locating a 15 year old female in Westborough, MA. NEMPB located the missing on 4-29-90 and provide logging assistance and airline flight to return the missing to her family. Specialists on the case: Shaun O'Donoghue, Dana Preston.
900904JR Wareham, Massachusetts, Runaway, Date of Incident 9-25-90 Located.
16 year old female left drug rehabilitation program in Falmouth, Massachusetts and through a cooperative effort of family, Greensboro, NC Police, Det. Holder, the Adam Walsh Center and the Society for Young Victims dissemination of information to law enforcement was achieved. Missing was picked up hitchhiking by Apopki FL Police Department and was brought home via a runaway program. Specialists on the case: unknown.

Services to the Department of Social Services (DSS) - Region II. Attempted to locate through investigative research of the Rainbow Group with the Adam Walsh Center. Parents unwilling to corporate with the DSS. Specialists on the case: Unknown.
900915MB Kingston, Massachusetts, Abduction, Date of Incident 9-17-90, Located, Homicide.
13 year old Melissa Benoit of Kingston, Massachusetts. Services requested by the Boston office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. NEMPB launched its largest massive ground search in efforts to locate the missing girl. With over 1000 civilian, law enforcement, fire department, Civil Air Patrol agencies. NEMPB coordinated the search efforts freeing up the Kingston Police to investigate the case. Melissa was found 11 days later by police in a basement of the neighbor's home, Henry Meinholtz. Meinholtz was later convicted of the abduction and murder of Melissa Benoit. Special thanks to Capt. Tim Barker of the Civil Air Patrol and all that helped the NEMPB on this case. 891107RT Lancaster, Massachusetts, Abduction, Date of Incident 8-24-90, Located, Homicide.
Richard Tuttle Jr., 20 year old male disappeared with a large amount of cash. Foul play suspected in this case involving drug deal gone bad. NEMPB launched search efforts to cover territory as indicated by police officials investigating the case. Specialists on the case: Dana Preston, Steve Chase, Andy Gillis, J.T.
